| Description of the project | STPLN’s door “is open to all experiences, levels and ages. We have workshops, studios and an open office space ready for use. We work inclusive, experimental and sustainable with technology, crafts, art and culture.
Our mission is to provide space, time, structure and methods. Our target groups are individuals and organisations with creative, innovative ideas in arts and culture, technology and design, non-formal education and circular practice. We are housed in a 2000m2 former slipway where large ships were once repaired on our rooftop before being pushed out to sea.” (Source : website) STPLN was founded in 2006 by the NGO STPLN with financing coming from diverse city departments. Between 2009 and 2013 the NGO has bee experimenting with different forms of co-ownership and co-management of the space that have been involving the users of the space, an university research center (MEDEA, Malmö University), interaction design companies (1scale1, Arduino…) |
