Description of the project | “In the litteral sense, AiREAS stands for AIR and AREAS. It’s a citizens initiative with the method to promote cooperation for our health and a healthy living environment. AiREAS is part of the City of Tomorrow vision, where “humans and our sustainable progress” are a central element, this is called sustainocracy.
Method means a core values (higher purpose) based collaboration between citizens, government, entrepreneurs and scientists.” (Website) AiREAS developed the first unique intelligent measurement system (ILM) for measuring air pollution through co-creation between all participants of the POP. Each participant through the use of an app and a mobile device could see the status of the quality of the local air at any time in her/his direct vicinity. The measurements are not the end goal which instead is for each participant and for the population of Eindhoven as a whole to find and visualize the direct relationship between air quality and the health of the city. |
