| Description of the project | Initiated in the fall of 2005, the Vertical Village became a reality in June 2013 with the moving in of 14 households, cooperators of our cooperative with variable capital, created in December 2010. Fourteen households from different backgrounds, working together to advance the project. All but one of them are below the social housing ceiling. The vertical villagers each have a home in the ecological building they have designed, sharing certain spaces and resources, to create real neighborhood solidarity, in a project on a human scale combining conviviality, responsibility, savings, mutual aid, ecology and democracy. We are collectively the only owner of our building, and each household rents its housing, within the framework of a democratic management prohibiting any speculation and any profit. | |
