Description of the project | In 2007, a new business activity took shape in Ex Lanificio, and Lanificio 159 was born, as a space for clubbing. Then a restaurant opened. In 2012, the Expo space, designed for temporary exhibitions and performances, opened, and Lanificio Officina’s artistic and cultural promotion activities were launched.Lanificio Officina is a creative lab where handcrafts and art find space, tools, and experience. This space is open for everyone with the objective of promoting the share of experience and competence with artists, and artisans. Lanificio Officina is also an original furniture store that combines a passion for traditional craftsmanship with design culture. At Officina, you will find furniture for sale, consultations for fittings, and furniture solutions produced in-house that can be visited in the showroom space, which is open daily. The goal is to compare and exchange experiences and knowledge, within a space equipped with appropriate technologies (with work spaces, meeting rooms, exhibition-conference area). The organization of the premises is based on the articulation of an internal landscape counterpoint to the external one characterized by the presence of the Aniene River, where functional spaces alternate with winter gardens that also bring nature inside the built environment. Pathways and spaces common to the different activities allow exchange between the parts, pandering to the idea of a Citadel of Art and Architecture |
