| Description of the project | The area was a space used for play, but in such a state of complete neglect that it has earned the nickname “toy graveyard.” The intent of the Cellulose Park Committee together with the social promotion association Interazioni Urbane was to encourage participation in the process of reactivation of this space by both the inhabitants of Casalotti and those who in various ways gravitate to this type of intervention. Today the Park is a colorful and fun space, a concrete and sustainable symbol of respect for the environment and a place deputed to the creation of new spaces for socialization, fun and play. It was created through a number of self-construction workshops with the involvement of undergraduate and recent graduate students in Architecture, Engineering, Agriculture and Fine Arts; carpentry, self-construction and gardening enthusiasts.
Even though the park existed from a long time, since May 11, 2006, the entire area falls within the Cellulose Park Natural Monument established by Regional Law Decree No. 165. |
