UIA Turin Co City project
The Urban Innovative Action (UIA) Program, supported by the Regional Development Fund, funded the project entitled “Co-City. The collaborative management of urban commons to counteract poverty and socio-spatial polarization” in the City of Turin, Italy. This project was built upon the Turin Regulation promoting collaboration between the Administration and citizens for the caring, shared management and regeneration of urban commons” inspired by the Bologna Regulation on the Urban Commons advocated and co-devised in 2015 with the support URBACT expert and LabGov’s founder Christian Iaione along with other experts and locals. Among its main objective, the Turin Regulation provides for the implementation of “pacts of collaboration” between locals, associations and local authority regarding the reuse of abandoned urban spaces and structures.
